The organisation is now one year on from the capital developments and improvements that took place in  2006.  Working from our new facilities has made the organisation a much more welcoming environment for everyone accessing the service, as well as accommodating the many visitors to the new facility.  The improvements and access to the site has also made a significant impact on the service provision.

We welcomed the arrival of our new member of staff who is responsible for the café/kitchen area of our new facility. This new development within the service has had a positive response from everyone who uses the facility. Over the past nine months there has been demand for this provision and we are now improving the kitchen area to cope with increased demand.

In February of this year we were invited to attend an information session held by the More Choices, More Chances team. A team of Inspiring Scotland advisors were there to inform us of this new and exciting fund, which is being led by Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland.

A Proposal was submitted to Inspiring Scotland, and we were delighted that out of one hundred and seventy applications, Parklea Branching Out was included in the final forty four that were chosen to put forward a full proposal.

A formal presentation of our proposal had to be made to a panel of experts at the Lloyds TSB offices in Glasgow. We were ably assisted in this presentation by our young people who spoke enthusiastically of their experience at Parklea Branching Out and did an excellent job.

The bid was an extensive and important piece of work for our team, with input and assistance from our young people, volunteers and Lynda our local Biz Fizz Coach.

We finally found out in October that Parklea Branching Out are one of the few to be succesful with the Inspiring Scotland grant, which will now provide significant investment and expansion of the service and facilities and will enable us to target more young disadvanteged individuals living within our community.
